How have FondoMicro's clients performed to date and what are their plans for the future?
Analyses the performance of five organisations that are clients of FondoMicro. Undertakes quantitative analysis of their financial performance and qualitative assessment of their long term plans to transform into self sustainable institutions
Preliminary financial results for these five lenders reveal:- a positive trend. Almost all of them have been profitable in accounting terms
- ADEMI could be profitable even if it had to pay market rates of interest for its funds
- they do not use subsidised funds from donors in order to leverage funds from non-donor sources
Further notes that all five lenders have adopted financial technologies which are perceived internationally as the best tools currently available for reaching self-sustainability. However, they have not all had equal success in implementing those tools within their specific institutional settings.
