Mongolia: Index-based livestock insurance project report
This is a project information document for the index-based livestock insurance program in Mongolia, which was designed in the context of a World Bank lending operation with the Government of Mongolia.
The document focuses on the concept of index-based insurance, which it defines as:
- A combination of self-insurance, market-based insurance and social insurance.
It discusses two products in particular:
- Base insurance product (a commercial risk product);
- Disaster response product (a social safety net product).
